Diatomaceous earth is a disastrous substance.An acquaintance recommended it to me when my cat brought in a zillion pregnant fleas and I was frantic for a solution. I spread it all over my carpeting as well as the cat. It made the cat feel awful to the touch even after brushing him thoroughly. The next day, I vacuumed the carpeting and bathed the cat and treated him with Advantage ( a monthly flea prevention for cats).Result: My cat has not been out of the house and has been relatively flea-free since the Advantage treatment.Another result: Because of the D.Earth. I have had to dust my house EVERY SINGLE DAY.
