She better hope the skunk doesn’t spray the car.

One of the drawbacks to living in the Enchanted Forest is that all the forest creatures are so danged smart—and faster than our little green 1500-year-old heroine!

What happened to the fins on the car? They are usually appropriate for 1956 – 1959

The fins on the Plymouths of that era were pretty subdued until 1958. The one in the cartoon looks fairly correct for ‘55~’57.

Why would the battery go dead? The engine has to be running for the A/C to work, keeping the battery charged. She may get hotter when it runs out of gas.

The battery would go dead—- just because. Batteries had a habit of doing that in those old cars. 6-volt battery and old-fashion generators— not alternators like newer cars— equaled a fair number of dead batteries.

The last car I remember us as a family having that was 6 volt, was a ’54 Chevy. 6 volt, Positive ground. GM switched to 12V across the product line in 1955.Our ’57 Pontiac was 12V, Negative ground. I think alternators came into popular use in ’61. But, in a properly maintained system, 6 volts seemed to get the job done just fine. I had a ’48 Pontiac, and both ’48 and ’51 Buicks that were 6V and never had any difficulty, even in the winter.

Didn’t realize those old Plymouth (Savoy?) had A/C unless it was 4/40

Broomie has a convertible. This looks like a hardtop. This must be dealer installed air conditioning. The cars of the 50’s never had air.And Broomie keep your car doors locked and the keys in safe place. What if the animals drive off in your car. Ok I realize thsi is a cartoon so I will lighten up.
