The Meaning of Lila by John Forgetta and L.A. Rose for July 11, 2012

Seeing how many couples nowadays need sex so much, and how it can keep going a relationship, or break it… Lila is so gullible with Annie’s opinions XD.

Forget it, This is going nowhere. Gonna take a break for a few months and see if it gets any better.

Thanks for reading, hawgowar. Just curious…where do you want the strip to go? I’m always interested in why people read or don’t read “Lila.”

Part of the reason why I read comics with arcs is to follow where they go. I’m in no hurry to get there. I read Mary Worth for goodness sakes! The only non-arc strip that I follow is Herman.

John, knowing you a little over the years, I do like how you go about making us laugh.Still think a good alternate name for the strip would be “The Irony Of Lila.”Ok, it’s not as catchy and may not work in the USA </foreigner’s ironic stereotyping>, but it would be self descriptive.

JWF, you’re doing just fine. It’s very hard to produce something new every day, and I think most people understand that. Some days are better than others. Like life. I think that’s why people follow ANY ‘serial’ . . . to watch the ‘ups and downs’.btw I think hawgowar has “quit” here at least once before.

Chalk one up for timing.

I still say the writers need to introduce a beefy, balding gay blue collar worker with no fashion sense and a penchant for beer and football. We do exist, you know.

Just because someone says what “appears” to be negative doesn’t mean they are a troll. Hawgowar is most def not one and has contributed(like a lot of folks) to the dynamic of the gocomics comment sections: interesting, thought-provoking, debatable and funny comments.

I read Lila because the gags where always funny and later, because of the way the strip has shaped out to be. And, of course, because of JDub. You are an artist that laughs at life, and himself. Takes life as it is and keeps moving. No matter what is going on in your life, you still manage to give us Lila on a daily basis. Whenever someone voices their opinion you don’t throw a hissy fit and blast the commenter on your blog, all the while “proclaiming” you don’t ever READ the comments. You actually take the comment and expound on it or sometimes never address it. I consider that a wise virtue.

There are times, where I, myself have laid off one comic or another for whatever reasons: the storyline didn’t appeal to me or i got interested in another or whatever. I’ve just never declared it. Hawgowar has every right to take a break for whatever reasons. JDub’s talent, is so addictive, he WILL be back…lol

Lila should marry Dick Tracy. That guy’s predictable, and he’s got a steady job.

Hey JWF, that’s so cool you read the comments and solicit opinions. I have one: YOU ARE AWESOME! This strip is funny as hell. Very daring, original, and biting. Keep pushing the limits, and just do exactly what you’re doing. That’s all I got — except, thanks!

I can’t believe JWF missed a chance to have a “Daddy Warbucks” for little (formally orphan) Annie…. :o)

OK, I’m straight and I make a mean apple crisp. I don’t enjoy shopping for clothes though.
