@ chasm_b..yes….it is..also a dismount is off the parallel bars, the horse, ( the gym AND animal kind), and if a Canadian Mountie gets fired, it is also called a Dis-Mount…tee….LOL

First time I saw it, I winced. Always called it ap****buster. Much later one of the tv commentatorsexplained that the bit in question doesn’t actuallyhit — they stop themselves [at least if it’s done right]with their hands. HOO, what a relief!
