Get a reusable bag, Marcus. Oh wait, you’d have to spend money on that. But at least it’d just be once. Also you can stilll get water from the faucet—you don’t have to buy the bottled kind!

Reusable cloth bags should be washable. Too bad Marcus wasted money on those ugly tattoos instead of spending a fraction of that money on reusable bags.

At least one grocery here pays ME 5¢ for each cloth/insulated bag I reuse.

You can get reusable bags cheaply from thrift stores. And a reverse osmosis filter for your home is affordable, self-cleaning, and makes the water, as my plumber said, “almost too clean to drink.”

Marcus is practically a strawman example of the 1% hording their money and weakening the economy

Turn on the tap, free water. Use your own bank’s ATM and there are no fees. My local grocery store gives a $.05 credit on your order if you use a reusable bag and doesn’t charge extra for the plastic bags (which ARE recycable). Marcus is just whining AND he’s a cheapskate!

I get reusable bags for free from the Minnesota State Fair…several of them…I use them for a year and then get new ones. I never put raw anything in them so no germs to carry over…I put fresh meat in produce bags so even if they leak a little, the blood / juice is only in the plastic of the produce bag, not in the reusable bag. No germs allowed!

And keep those reusable bags in your car so you may actually remember to use them. It becomes second nature after a while.

“. . . it describes anyone prepared to spend almost three euros for something one can obtain free from a tap.”I read somewhere that the run on Fiji water is ruining the ecology on the Fiji islands by depleting their water supply. I coudn’t verify this during a quick search, but note that there is controversy on other grounds, too, including carbon emissions in its bottling process, cost to the environment in transporting it, etc.

Put the groceries back in the cart and then into your trunk. Then you can figure it out when you get home.

Marcus doesn’t seem to have thought that if he actually does run out of gas, he’ll have to pay for a tow truck. Target and WinCo give you money if you bring reusable bags. Buy a $1 reusable bag, and eventually, you’ll make the money back. Chico bags are available on the web site. They’re more expensive (around 5 bucks or so), but they fold up, and you can attach them to a purse or a belt loop so you don’t have to remember to bring them in.

I use a water filter at home – cheaper and better than buying bottled water. You can reuse store plastic bags for garbage bags. Marcus should keep a little extra cash in his wallet on a regular basis so that he doesn’t have to use a different bank’s ATM.

I have tried using reusable bags in my stores and the clerks are so quick to put my groceries in bags before I get a chance to stop them. When I tell them I brought my own bags they look at me like I slapped them. I think they must get a bonus for how many bags they get rid of. Sometimes they only put a few items in a bag. Then I have all these bags to discard.
