Republicans don’t care about ‘across the board’ tax cuts. Republicans are after tax cuts for the wealthy. Middle class tax cuts are just the hostage.-To repeat: If Republicans cared about the middle class, they would vote for those tax cuts today.-If they lost out on tax cuts for the wealthy, it would be a defeat for them, but middle class tax cuts would survive and Republicans would share in the credit. -Of course, there are two problems with that scenerio – first, Republicans don’t give a whit about the middle class and second -It would benefit the country and therefore make Obama look good.-Remember, Republicans priority is to make Obama look bad, no matter the collateral damage.
