Also: The Little Dog’s name has never been revealed. We don’t know if he even has one or not. The recent strip in this story arc where Jackson (the crow) reveals that the buzzard can’t eat anyone whose first name he knows is a callback to one of the very first strips (as an explanation as to why we will never hear the name). We don’t know the buzzard’s name either. Also, I’m pretty sure both Little Dog and the tortoise are male since he said “I’m not even sure whether that’s legal in this state” in one of the “you’re like an old married couple” strips. Vernon was used only a few times, and while we haven’t been given any explanation, I get the feeling it was pointed out that it’s very similar to Verne in Over The Hedge.
