Hey, don’t kid yourself about Captain Kangaroo. Lee Marvin once said the toughest guy he ever met was his sergeant during WW II and that was Bob Keeshan.
Gil could learn a few things from the Captain. When he did his stint as Clarabell The Clown on Howdy Doody,he didn’t talk on any show, honking a horn instead. The last show broadcast ended with the camera zooming in on a closeup of Clarabell, who had never spoken, whispering “Goodbye kids.” Fade out.Gil needs to learn to use his exploding eye and to hold up the GIL cup to make his nonverbal point. The Captain started a couple years before Gil, but they were both part of my childhood day. Now I have Gil and you clowns in the Peanut Gallery. Life is good.

I’m sure Molly understands. She’s mis-hit a few in her day.

Molly will give it up soon.

Will Molly show him how washing his balls can improve his game?

I agree on the Lefty part. Makes much more sense, but then I do golf lefty and can’t even swing righty with TWO good arms.

Perhaps Molly can give him a hand.

Steve’s improvement will be so rapid that by the end of the summer he’ll be in the hunt for the club championship.

Are you sure this isn’t a “Batman” episode with panel #2

I heard Lee Marvin tell the Bob Keeshan story himself one night on Johnny Carson. That doesn’t mean that Marvin wasn’t ‘stretching’ things, of course.

Don’t worry, we see this kind of play on the 72nd hole of the British Open all the time.
