global warming is real. 8 days without power this summer because of a severe thunderstorm. greenland ice sheet disappeared. higher gas prices. flooding in many areas of the world.
8days without power is more due to the fact that the electrical system hasnt been upgraded since the 50’s and that many parts of it are just getting plain old and needs to be upgraded
Observation: folks DO wear warmer clothes in summer, to accommodate the blasted (literally) A/C units in homes and especially, malls. Winter, turn the heat up to 80, summer, turn the A/C down to 55/60, ’tis true.
The earth has gone through this process many times. Man has just accelerated this process by producing more green house gasses..FlyinHeavy Vern’s AC must be on the fritz.
Most of the naysayers about global warming are now acknowledging that the planet is indeed warming, but are now trying to claim that the changes are natural. However, there’s no way that they can know that for certain – for all we know, the earth could be in a natural cooling cycle and our impact is actually greater than we think. Those who study earth’s history of carbon concentration relative to temperature provide compelling evidence that we are indeed speeding the warming. If we assume that global warming is accelerated by man and guess wrong, then we will waste money in needlessly reducing our carbon emissions, but will at least gain some side benefits – high-tech jobs, reductions in other forms of pollution, reduction in our dependence on non-sustainable energy sources, etc. If, however, we assume that we aren’t accelerating global warming and are wrong, we risk changing the planet catastrophically. If I’m going to bet, I want to be on global warming being real and being caused by man.

What happened to the AC in Verne’s shell?
Casey Southards over 12 years ago
It does get hotter every summer.

Just Verne’s luck: none of the benefits of cold blood.

Just wondering what happened to… “the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”
