Where I live, the end of the rainbow is either north or south.

On this island Yamacraw Beach is east, Cable Beach is west, Paradise Island Beach is north and South Beach is south.

I always imagine a map underneath me with the orientation set in the direction I’m already headed, then I’d know which way is which. E.g., if I’m headed south on a highway, and I want to go west, I see myself on the map facing south and know that west is to my right.
