Woman: Why do you put your hand in front of the vent? Man: To see if it's getting cool. Woman: Wouldn't a better way to tell be if you were getting cool?
I’m actually with the husband on this one. My car takes forever to start blowing hot or cold air and I like to check to see if it’s actually doing anything sometimes.
This time she’s not only snarky, she’s way off…What if the vents are adjusted incorrectly? What if there’s something amiss with the thermostat? It makes perfect sense to check the air flow to see how it’s doing.
Zyada: I know it goes against the grain of anyone with a car AC, but it cools a lot quicker if you open a window slightly. This lets out the 150°F solar-heated air and brings the interior temperature closer to the 105°F outside air. Then the AC can start cooling that. When you first feel the cool, then close the window. If you lived in Texas before AC, you know to give it all the help you can, just out of gratitude.

While kayaking, she’d wait a while to make sure she was actually going over the falls.

He should tell her he is “cool” but he still wants to check the temperature

She obviously never lived in Texas. Some days it can take 10 minutes for the air coming out of the vent to make it through the wall of hot air.
