About 50 years ago Jane Jacobs, the great author on the economy of cities, predicted that we’d end up mining our old dumps. Me, I’m a big believer in trash-to-steam, especially if there is secondary recovery of valuable materials from the ash.
The landfills will not be full in twenty years. That’s nonsense.
We’re fortunate in the US to have an abundance of land, but that’s not the case in many countries.
