Hey, they really DO that. The 4H kids at the fair…. when they show their chickens, they “walk” them with those little sticks.
They’re actually judged on how well the chickens strut their stuff…whatever stuff a chicken struts.
Oh, wait…. Norman’s stick is a pencil.
Good morning all…. unfortunately I also have to say goodnight very soon.
Waaay past my bedtime… and I have so many people to catch up with!
Bev — all that time you’ve talked about that farm…I didn’t know it was a catalogue or a company.LOL
But wow…. if Ballard St and the bus line are extended out to the lake…. that would be so great!
I do have a car, you know… but it’s at the West Coast end of the street.it’s just too old and too small to drive all those miles every day…. and I’m so tired at the hours I travel.
Stel… that was a wonderful picture of FlyKittyFly…
and Monkey…. would you please apologise to the Leichenschpincters for my not being able to greet them…and tell them they can stop by the salon for cotton candy any time, not just on Tuesdays.
I’m off to get some sleep…. once again, the salon will have short hours tomorrow… till around the end of August, I close early on Wednesdays to get to my job at the farmer’s market.
I love it… but I’m looking forward to Whimsical Wednesdays come fall.
Speaking of the end of August — only three weeks till the election!!
We gotta get busy!
For Ballard County Sheriff, he will be the very best!
She looks like she fancies chickens even more than Norman and maybe a little too much:The picture is hotlinked from the Washington County Observer where there’s a whole story about the her and I’d link it, but the picture was in the first 10 results of a Google image search for chicken fanciers.
I know I will sleep well knowing Monkey and his corp are on duty on Ballard Street.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I’m not so sure how well we’ll sleep but ole MonkeyBlues has my support and the support of my crew, The Ballard Street Irregulars.
Although chicken fancier Norman Vanhall may be respected in his knowledge of the finer attributes required to bestow Blue Ribbons in the Ballard County Fair, he has been relieved of his duties and responsibilities as one of the judges during the Talent stage of the competition, as he feels the event is not respectful and falls far below the worthiness of such fine and majestic species…. it’s a shame hecause there exists SO much talent at the fair….last years winner…. “Peg-Leg” Peggy, a prancing pullet from the Putnam’s Egg Farm…. watch her dance…!!!
And lest not ferget last years Furst Runner up…. Mah pursenal favorit… Katie “Cue-Ball” Cornpecker…. she could run a table 3 out of 4 times…. that is, if she din’t skratch…!!!
Do you mean that you want to move the house, the other buildings, all the acreage AND the lake to Ballard Point when there is an EXACT copy of the property already there???? Even for Ballard St., that’s a little far out, don’t you think? I understand how much you love the house! What’s not to love? It’s gorgeous! I have half a mind (that’s actually all I have…) to steal it away from you……but. I. won’t.
How to move an entire property:
(note: and you’d have to move the property that’s already there (an exact copy) to accomodate the one you’re flying in. The logistics are beyond me. I think we need to call in x_Tech to bring some sense to all this.)
But lets hope that things will not get outta hand lak they did last year, wen ther wuz apparently a misunderstandin between feathers an fur….. Ted Nugent wauz the gest entertainer and when he started playin “Cat Skratch Fever” all hell broke loose…. don’t know wut wuz sed buy whom, butt musta been bahd…. ah told ah don’t trust dem cats….
Well, sure. What’s not to fancy? Look at that proud mien, standing tall and meeting Norman’s gaze. This is a chicken who’s going places and knows it. Of course, one of those places – very likely the last one – is the processing plant. But she doesn’t know that.
No, customers like that are not the reason we prefer takeout from our favorite Chinese restaurant – that place is so packed they rent the outside tables from the adjacent store after its opening hours. You have to be there really early and/or have a reservation or wait some time. It’s that good.
