Raphael Soyer was William (Bill) Gothard’s painting instructor. Perhaps you remember the paintings of Bill Gothard that Teresa posted on the blog a while back.
YEOHGHI liked his art enough to look for more. The flickr page was easy enough to find and he’s apparently active on Facebook, which I’m not. The blog pics came from Facebook and/or ffffound.com. I might have to figure out how to buy the ‘Fly up to the sky’ or the ‘Make Love, No War’ (two tanks in flagrante delicto) or ‘Life is too short to worry’ or any number of other shirts if they’re actually available.
Thanks for the Sam Chatmon recording, Teresa. You don’t get nothing better than a dead bluesman. Or a drunk Irishman. What kind of music does Vlad like? I really see him as the Simon & Garfunkel type.

Bobby Baker’s drawings remind me of the novel “I never promised you a rose garden.” Powerful!

teresa, if you ever want to change the name of Frog Applause, the quote from Gilda Radner provides a perfect alternative: Delicious Ambiguity.

A vladograph. I didn’t know that he had time for such trivialities. Heck, I didn’t know that he could write.
