The question of whether the framers of the constitution had any idea or not that weapons would advance is not the correct question to be asking. The right question is did they think that citizens should have guns to enable them to rise up and strike down an unjust government? And that answer is clearly YES. I don’t however think the framers of the constitution forsaw the degradation of moral fiber to the point that murder is as trivialized as it is today.
