TheThai police will stop you and expect a bribe; the local police don’t investigate 40% of crimes. There’s bad amongst the good everywhere. In Andy’s case, the old time police would have just let him cool off over night or sent him on his way. Rowdy kids would have had a “clip round the ear’ole” and dragged home to be punished by their parents. Now they’re either not allowed to intervene or get too heavy handed.

THAT IS SO SWEET! Thank you for your really kind words. I agree with you about the ‘disagreeable types’ I have ran into plenty of those while I’ve been on GoComics.

As I said before… I have been reading Andy Capp since childhood and it’s a huge part of my life. Only today I got a paperpack from 1962 and there are some pretty funny ones which I have never read before.

I hope you’re doing good and again I am glad your internet is now working.

I suspect, no; know that there are crooked cops everywhere. Last year, one in the UK was in court for selling heroin at a night club; never heard what happened to him, everything goes quiet. .When I was a kid of 16, I was picked up by the drug squad (because of my hair) and taken to the police station. After the usual “who do you know?” questions I was asked if I knew what happened to the drugs that they confiscate. Being naive, I suggested that they might be destroyed or given to pharmaceutical companies for research..No; I was told it went back out on the streets. Seems there’s one law for us and another for them.

They were about two feet taller than me and built like tanks. I was short, just out of school and had not yet seen all the pretty colours.

The type of F**s you’re referring to don’t come in packets. I’m sure the AC readers here know that Andy means cigs.
