Can you say life insurance. When Pastis first introduced Guard Duck to the strip he was just a regular little duck with serious anger issues. By regular that is to say he didn’t believe himself to be in the military. People who picked on them back then got the living daylights beaten out of them, one was nearly beheaded (Guard Duck did have him on a guilotine getting ready to release the blade when pig stopped him), one was swallowed (lovely pic of Guard Duck literally with an adult human male stuck in his throat), and two crocs were turned into shoes, belts, and suitcases. Guard Duck eventually ended up in prison for robbing a bank and sometime after leaving the slammer he was the Guard Duck of today.

I thought Guard Duck always was white…
