Someone reading this comic out of context would be incredibly confused. Is the last panel a punchline?

Poor Baldo. He would happily have been paired up with either of these girls, yet neither showed interest in him. Now, both show interest at the same time virtually guaranteeing that he’ll end up in a relationship with neither.

I went to a party, two girls that were dating me were there also. No fun, trying to keep them apart and happy at the same time.

He doesn’t have a girlfriend yet.
