All the comic book reading girls I knew in the 70’s read Archie and that genre. Where were the girls who appreciated Spidey, the art of Jack Kirby, and the Marval/DC universe when I was a kid. /sighC.
My friend is a high school teacher. Whenever any of his students notice he has a shopping bag from a retail store, they’d automatically boycott that store because it’s now uncool – the teacher shops there, ew.
There’s plenty of us ladies who like comic books, even superhero comics. What I don’t see a lot of is very small (5 or younger?) comics fans, especially in an actual comic book store.
I’m a little pre-70’s but Supes/Bats/Spidey/Dr Strange/Dracula/avengers/justice league … oh my yes! (and archie and sad sack occasionally … uhm … it has words, i can’t help it .. LOL)

Just so long as it isn’t adult themed manga…

You don’t want to see your teacher outside of school. That isn’t school.

She’s scouting for old Issues of Classics Comics to ‘lure’ the problem readers into the world of Literature!

It was always astonishing to see a teacher outside of school, period.

Well, Pasquale, there are some other things she probably participates in which would shock you. :-)

I’ve had teachers show up at the movie theater I work at and it ALWAYS surprises me when that happens.

Being a comic book girl of the 70’s I read Archie, Richie Rich, Sad Sack & the comic digests you picked up at the grocery store checkout.

difference between a Catholic and a Baptist in a liquor store; the Catholic will say hi!

I remember when I was in seventh grade and in study hall. The teacher sat at her desk one day enjoying a Peanuts comic paperback.

I’m a bit of a fan for “Crossover Comic(s)”. In fact there’s going to be a Megaman/Sonic the Hedgehog Crossover Comic out soon…
