Hey, what’s wrong with Kerplunking? Or skipping stones for that matter? The World Champion Stone Skipping Contest takes place on Mackinac Island. You wouldn’t believe how many times a stone can skip, even in wavy water….

    Yeah…. Martin knows what he’s doing….

Myrtle is always so busy with the newspaper or the book club or the cookies for the grandkids…He wants another chance to spend a few hours with the “girl” he married.

Out by the lake, where the phone won’t ring, and the breeze might blow her skirt a little….and he might sneak a kiss… like when they were 19.

Of course, those kisses led to…. well… um…. her getting….I mean, their wedding …but he doesn’t regret it, and no worries about that happening NOW…

But he knows somewhere in there she still contains a giggle or two…. and gosh darn it, he wants to find them.

Meanwhile… only midnight here…. and tempting as it is to look around the neighborhood,

maybe see whether there’s a party at Storm’s, take a bus out to Beviek’s (I meant to thank you for that kind offer, Bev!!) check in at the Tiki, in case the Monkey’s back or at Red’s place or the Pirate ship….Just to see who’s still awake, making music or shaking up cocktails…Or go see what x_Tech’s cooking up in the lab(not that he invites anyone…. but he seems to be another night owl)…Instead of any of that I’m gonna head over to my salon and go to sleep!

I’m exhausted…. but I’m back on Ballard St!The fair is over…three more farmer’s markets to work before they end for the year….(I’ll have tomatoes again Thursday, for those as wants ’em.)

The flower show plant sale was today….

Oh, and Stel….of course I wouldn’t bring home something with big teeth.Just look at this cute little baby plant I found!Isn’t it adorable?

Peter Noone isn’t exactly known for his hard edged lyrics. That’s not to say that he didn’t entertain a lot of people. (I was more into rock and “progressive” stuff at the time.).I can imagine these lyrics with an atmospheric electronic background with slightly distorted chanting vocals. Feel free to improvise on that idea, if you wish.

Too many visits to the Gravel Bar for Martin.Redkaycei Repoc, I pretty much agree on the bands with a huge exception. Procol Harum tops my list. Pretty much always has.

stel, ol’ bel, YAAAHH! panic attack!.I just had a flashback of my grade school education handed down at Holy Trinity Catholic school in Indy, in the ’50’s.Whenever I hear or read that word (ruler) I fall to the ground and curl up in a fetal position to protect me from the barrage of abuse heading my way at the hands of the dreaded, ruler wielding nun.ah, the nun would probably say today, ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you………..etc."

nobody’s mentioned one of the best of the British Invasion bands, The Kinks. They were still touring playing both their classic hits as well as new recordings well into the 80s.

“Most welcome, its what we minstrels do (or at least we try to do)”+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++And, it is so appreciated…

Let me bring you songs from the wood:To make you feel much better than you could know.Dust you down from tip to toe.Show you how the garden grows.Hold you steady as you go.Join the chorus if you can:It’ll make of you an honest man.Let me bring you love from the field:Poppies red and roses filled with summer rain.To heal the wound and still the painThat threatens again and againAs you drag down every lover’s lane.Life’s long celebration’s here.I’ll toast you all in penny cheer.Let me bring you all things refined:Galliards and lute songs served in chilling ale.Greetings well met fellow, hail!I am the wind to fill your sail.I am the cross to take your nail:A singer of these ageless times. With kitchen prose and gutter rhymes.Songs from the wood make you feel much better.

    DAAAHHHH STRIP!

    Yep, that’s what Martin said!

(Not disparaging on any of the off topic comments. Just paid a little tribute to Risitis. He used to say that all the time. :-) Anybody know how he’s doing? I enjoyed him.)
