I’m starting to think that I have bad eyes. Not for reading comics, not seeing…I don’t know. It’s just that, whenever I see PLODS WITH BEER’s profile picture, I always think it’s got penguins on them but now…I just realised it was a donkey. DX

Nate, the Cream Puffs were league champs, that’s worthy of mention. Everyone on your team will remember that forever. No one will ever see Gina’s story in that magazine, er, unless she buys every copy she can find and starts passing them out at school.

I keep thinking that Nate and Gina are destined to be together…

Nobody who’s NOT on Nate’s team is going to know or care about that championship for more than a month. Gina’s published article will be impressing college recruiters and potential employers for 20 years to come.

I have begun to wonder about the loss of childhood that is occurring because of the “pushing for excellence” that seems to be happening in schools these days……

I think she’s lying. Even for her that’s just not plausible. Let’s see the evidence.

Good point. I think Gina would be a very likable character if she wasn’t so smug.

Gina is pretty smart, but Nate’s good at other things like drawing cartoons.

How is that a waste of a summer vacation? That’s a pretty awesome accomplishment by Gina.

I am so jealous that I didn’t think of this first. Looks like I have my summer vacation for next year all planned out, though!

What? That’s not nerdy or a waste of a summer vacation. Historical fiction ROCKS. And 10,000 words is barely a novella – easily achieved in, say, a month. I AM SO DOING THIS.

If only i lived in one of those contries. At my school (6th grade) if you know what biased means, or even the formula for perimeter, you are going to get some odd, odd looks.

I also don’t want to offend anyone, but but yourself in Gina’s shoes. Your at a school, where you’re clearly smarter than most people. However, at this school, people are not valued for being smart. She’d probably have very few friends even if she didn’t brag. She brags to get attention, but it doesn’t work. She doesn’t even mean to brag sometimes. I mean, have any of you ever accidentally said something? I know I did, actually just a few days ago. We were talking about test scores, and when I told one person mine, he got really upset. Like, banging fist on the table, red in the face upset. Anyway, gina is clearly socially disabled. She needs sympathy, and she needs to learn to stop bragging.

Everyday is just like a school day for Gina.
