Even we heard of NBC’s lousy coverage of the games from a correspondent living in Washington D.C.Of course, he was reporting the American nation’s disaffection with their coverage, not comparing the BBC’s overwhelming (a tad fawning at times but still excellent) coverage of every event. Not that I watched the open ceremony, I wasn’t in the UK at the time and without TV, but I did catch the closing ceremony, in 3D. Wow. nb: My link to BBC article is not that of a journalist correspondent in DC; his report I heard on radio.
One must remember that the top priority in America, according to Corporations, Republicans, Koch Brothers, NBC, etc. is the bottom line profit. Thuth, honesty, compassion, Oh—and the welfare of the average American is somewhere down the line.
I don’t blame NBC for cutting away from the closing ceremony.I was only half watching it and when ever I looked up they were featuring some English pop star. Move on.

They should banned from ever getting another major sporting event.

Reality? You call that fake-soldier thing reality? Or are you referring to the music show with that skinhead Mandel?
