Mine is on 17 wooded rolling acres. It’s not mobile anymore as it is attached to the basement, but it did come in 2 halves.

It’s the corporate media again. Most “tornado” damage to those structures are straight-line winds, generally from microbursts. Still they blame tornados to keep their advertisers happy.

Mobile homes get a tornado; but for big things like Republican Conventions, you need a hurricane.

Mobile homes are also called “tornado magnets” in some parts of the country. …and then there are Category 5 hurricanes packing 170+ mph sustained winds with gusts over 200 mph. Twenty years ago hurricane Andrew demolished a large part of Dade County Florida. It tore apart concrete block walls, ripped entire roofs off of buildings (taking with them the poured concrete they were anchored into). My father’s mango tree was uprooted and fell along the northeast corner of his house. After seeing the debris (including an entire garden shed) smashed into the remains of the tree, I told my father that the tree gave its life to protect him and his house. And it did a pretty good job of it, too.

It pays to keep your eye on Mother Nature. She will have her way whether you like it or not.

Like Andy Rooney once said “If mobile homes are mobile, why don’t just go!”

Well, it’s as they say: Oklahoma tornado, Mississippi hurricane, Arkansas divorce, someone’s fixin’ to lose themselves a trailer.
