Makes it 1952 if Mutt and Jeff debuted in 1907, and they are 45 years old now!
They achieved a kind of immortality by becoming a rhyming slang for being deaf in this country. During the years of WW2 I think.
Thanks for the Cockney tip, Tog!
Took me a long time to know who was Mutt and who was Jeff.
I guess kid didn’t care much for the Mutt and Jeff’s comic, in the 5th panel, there’s an “F” missing in Jeff’.
Here’s to 45 more years, and being cancelled in 1997.
Still the best.
“Baby Face”
Still one of the best strips available…they may be dated, but the humor is still there…
I wouldn’t mind seeing a lot of the old strips I knew back when I was a kid and even the ones older than that. =^.^=
I miss #3 and #6.
The reason for the missing letter is that someone took a look at this comic and said, “Get the ‘F’ out of my paper!”
The last two panels make me think of those Capital One ads with Jimmy Fallon and the baby.
