Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for August 27, 2012

Transcript:
Arlo: We'll be away for a few days.
Arlo: There's plenty of food and water and a ton of fresh litter!
Arlo: And the nice lady next door will visit with you every day!
Janis: Should I write it all down for him?
You don’t know what pets may be able to understand. When my son-in-law, J., starts packing to leave for a business trip, Gomez the macaw starts screaming her head off. On the day J. is due to return, I tell Gomez, “Daddy’s coming home!” It can’t hurt.
LuxeryLife, get another one right away…But I recommend two….They can entertain themselves and keep active ambushing each other and tipping over anything with water in it……
I had mentioned before how I can’t leave on a trip because my 17 year has bad teeth and can’t eat dry food anymore. I have to feed her canned food several times a day and watch when she walks away for a break and comes back, her fat grandson will have eaten all her food. I’ll deal with it because she might not be with me much longer.
My 16 year old died a few weeks ago. She was the last of my cats. First time in 40 some years I’m living without at least one cat. She wasn’t a lap cat, but she’s left a big void in my life.
Just went thru this — left our 4 alone for 2 weeks (sitter came to feed) but we felt sooooo guilty! They were, of course, fine when we returned — but 2 weeks is a long time in the life of a cat. Sorry for all those who are missing puddies — we’ve been thru that too many times to mention and it always hurts!!!
MysteryCat, cat’s have a way of finding you, sometimes before you’re quite ready for another one…
Sangelia, a house is too quiet without a cat, even if you used to come home and he wouldn’t wake up from the end of the bed and made no noise at all….just too quiet with out…You feel it as much as hear it…

There’s nothing worse than the feeling of an empty lap, where a cat used to be,

It’s a really good thing cats don’t have thumbs.

Johnson ran out of room today! He couldn’t fit the panel where Arlo says, “Don’t be ridiculous…”

I didn’t know Arlo and Janis could speak cat, but it figures.

1. Cats understand a great deal of what is said to them.
2. Am I the only person left who understands the difference between “lose” and “loose”, and “loser” and “looser”?

@Terri- I can’t either. We have 7 cats. They are a handful, but I can’t imagine life without them either!

I talk to my cat like this all the time, but she doesn’t pay attention.
I can tell her for a week about an upcoming vet visit, but she acts all surprised when I take her.

Heck, I always tell Charlie our plans when we’re leaving. Of course, he’s a dog and understands these things… ;-)
