“I’m hungry, where’s Gramma?” Sounds like Nelson’s been watching Silence of the Lambs.(Sorry, sleep deprived again today).

My grandma bought one of the first Amana Radar Ranges – a microwave oven about the size of a Buick. First time she tried to bake a potato in the thing, she did what she’s always done in a conventional oven, and wrapped the spud in aluminum foil. We almost had to call the fire department. The radar range had a permanent scorch mark on the inside thanks to the reflected radiation.

It’s possible to make a zucchini casserole that tastes like a pizza, but it never looks like a pizza.

Better to show him how to dial a phone to call for pizza delivery. Keep pizza phone# on refrigerator for emergency.

My first experience was a Magic Chef. The demo heated water for a minute and a half in a styrofoam cup. I didn’t believe it until it spilled on my hand. I cook both ways, but I love my microwave.

From the time my grandson was able to get up on a step-stool, I began to teach him to cook. I’m a firm believer that men should be able to do more than throw a frozen pizza in the microwave. They also should be able to do their own laundry, clean house, and shop sensibly for groceries. For you younger readers, I can tell you from experience, how popular you will become. You’d be surprised nowadays, how many young women don’t posses those skills.

Only the 5-minute brownie for one in a mug. Which is dangerously good, btw.

Whoever invented ‘Zucchini Casserole’ should be tied to a chair and slapped repeatedly.

So did Earl spcifically request the leftover zuchini casserole – specifically so he could become the kid’s “new number one” again by offering pizza instead?

In the south, you never leave your car door unlocked in the church parking lot during Sunday service, during zucchini season …
