The authors of this strip comment on them sometimes, right? I really like the idea of this strip. However, I really think y’all could benefit from maybe making the font smaller, so there would be more room for action to delevop.

Many of the newer strips are doing that (i.e. Beardo).

At an early age I told my father my friends and cousins all got an allowance for things they wanted. My Father god rest his soul told me “Let me teach you something that they probably won;t understand till its too late for them” He gives me 10 dollars and says ok you made 10 bucks, 5 out of that 10 goes into your expenses things you eat things you need, 3 out of the 5 left goes into emergency funding in cause you lose a book, break a lamp and so on, and the last 2 thats yours if you can save that up you can use it to buy what you want, but keep in mind sometimes you emergency funds won;t always cover what happens and savings will have to be added to that and expenses when things come up, nothing should be given to you son, Work hard for what you need work hard for what you want and you’ll be a step ahead of all of the folks who get something for nothing you’ll be a better man because of it." I try my best to live like that, and I think he was right I’m a better man because of it.

That’s the reality of being a cartoonist! A few make it big, but that has more to do with merchandising than the actual work they do.

Part of the problem is that some (not all) think that wants are needs (such as cable TV and expensive coffee). If you can afford the extras, great, but if you can’t then go without.

We need the cable here, because it includes telephone and internet. An all-in-one package that reminds us how technology can sometimes trap us. Personally I watch very little TV, and almost never voluntarily, but everyone else in the house likes it. We buy the cheapest coffee we can get and I really don’t taste that much difference.
