The button just places a ‘request’ into the system for the ‘walk’ signal, that’s how it’s designed. It doesn’t make the light change instantly. I can’t believe how many people think that the light is supposed to change the minute the press the button. Sheesh!
One time I hit the button to cross and a motorist yelled at me for causing him to sit through a red light when he was late for work. “Get out of bed fifteen minutes earlier,” I hollered back.

It wouldn’t “bug me all day”, but I resent the people who push an already-lit elevator button and the doors immediately open.

Those push buttons don’t control anything. It’s a scam.
