Boy, that “new math” must have been something terrible, introducing equations to kindergarteners.

Okay, so I was a bit late with this yesterday…New Math

It was, MPeters, and that’s why it flopped.

How many of these can you answer correctly?

Think about it…

I remember doing equations in kindergarten and I was in kindergarten in 1975-1976. When was the new math dropped?

I’m doing Algebra in 6th grade.

“New math” mus have been a nightmare. I did love Algebra and Trig though.

Oops….I meant must. LOL

Like Charlie Brown once said, “How do you do new math problems with an old math mind?”

And then, when it came to my science class, all the a-list pubescent girls came to class in green algae bras!

Can anyone give an example of an Algerba math style problem?

WoW! What a memory. I remember late nights of my Dad trying to help my brother with Algebra and Dad is telling him about Trigonometry. He had major “Sally moments” back then. I think he got a D in Algebra.

Wonderful – This was always one of my favorites.

My grandson is a lot like Sally….he takes medicine for it.

You know, I think I’ll take a vacation from this strip till they’re done with the New Math arc. Even after all these years it’s disturbing. Bad memories.

I Hates Math!!!!

I got by those classes only to fail calculus in my first attempt. The second attempt I barely got by. I think my teacher just had mercy on me the second time around.

When Sally grew up she went to work for a major toy company and developed the Barbie doll that said “Math is hard!”

Math is so hard! We had a formative today, but hardly anyone in my class actually understood the math.
