    No, that’s a portrait of Thomas Carlyle with the formal title Arrangement in Grey and Black, No. 2: Portrait of Thomas Carlyle. Carlyle liked the earlier Arrangement painting and offered to sit for a matching portrait. Whistler’s father was George Washington Whistler; his mother’s name was Anna Matilda (McNeill) Whistler:
