    very funny – exact same thing happened to us! We used to leave the keys in several cars in the driveway in Chicago no less until one day one of them was gone and that was the end of that.

    The bad things are happening to more people now. Child abuse at those earlier times wasn’t discused and " funny uncles" were in the in the closet. Also in smaller neighborhoods everyone knew and watched the thieves!

    We never locked our doors way back when, even when we went away, because a neighbor may need to borrow something while we were gone. Everyone looked out for everyone else and everyone else’s property. It was great. Now the doors are locked even when we are home because there have been daytime home invasions in our neighborhood this year.
