I started to post to you on yesterday, Bev…. but I fell asleep.(How’s that for old?)Just wanted to wish you a safe journey, and best of luck! I’m too superstitious (or Jewish or something) to say “congratulations!” ahead of time…but I’ll be waiting for the good news.
Grandma Bev.Has a nice ring to it!
Meanwhile…plenty of margaritas AND banana daiquiris here at the Tiki tonight…great music too….So if you DON’T sleep…. at least you’re in good company!
And yeah…I’ve done the crutches bit, when I was a lot younger…20-year-old-me even on crutches could run rings around (cough…mumble)-year-old-me without them.
Some days the edge of the property is farther away than other days…. I don’t really know how that happens.
Some days I can run two whole errandsother days, when night falls, I think….well…ok…at least I …hmmm…well…. I…um…..
And Red… I will never forget stopping in my tracks in the middle of a supermarket….the first time I heard a schmaltzy instrumental version of “I Want to Hold Your Hand” playing on their Muzak.
A year or so later, “Georgy Girl” was ubiquitous…and prettified Beatle tunes were everywhere….And I felt like an old fogey…in my twenties!
Ah yes, he has the “What About Bob?” approach to live. “Baby steps get out of bed. Baby steps get dressed. Baby steps walk out the front door. Baby steps…”
Here’s a little song from believe it or not Peter Paul and Mary called ‘Old Enough’…^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Thanks for that Red. Definitely can relate to that song.I grew up listening to more jazz and folk music than rock. PP&M were favorites of mine, along with the Chad Mitchell Trio and some Kingston Trio ( friend of mine was in the group ).I suppose because of my Irish roots, I was really into Irish groups like The Clancy Brother. When I lived in Ireland, I got to know Ronnie Drew. Luke Kelly and the rest of the Dubliners quite well. Many nights spent " jamming" at my place after the pubs closed. Still good friends and keep in touch with Pecker Dunne.Like blues singer, I like a certain rawness to the voice – Dylan is a good example.
Allen has been under House Arrest for almost two years. What is not visible is the House Arrest Monitor Ankle Bracelet on his right ankle. Everyday, he puts his suit on, grabs his hat and briefcase, and walks to the end of the sidewalk. Almost normal.
Next time he heads up a burglary ring, it won’t include a ditzy purple dinosaur….
I feel a bit like Allen, today. No sense in making goals that I have no desire to attain or no chance of attaining them.Think I’ll just go back to bed….What’s that ? I can’t ? I have work to do ? Money to earn ?Oh well, TGIT !
Has anyone heard from Bev ? Is it a boy or a girl ? Hope all is well. I’m sure she’s exhausted, as well as being caught up in the excitement.I’ll check back a little later – it’s 10:20pm (edt ) right now in my little part of paradise.

Actually, it was only 20 hours but it seemed like forever.Needless to say, she wasn’t thanking either of us during that time !BTW he’s 6’ 3" , 220 Lbs., 48 years old , living and working as a structural engineer in the Arab Emirates today.

Why not have one made that performs BOTH functions? Strum away and maybe a flute player will turn up to accompany you.

While I have no kids, I know the feeling…..my little baby nephew is 41.
When he complains about “kids today”, I have to laugh…. and tell him “You ARE one!”
