Say it ain't so, Joe- say it ain't so- tell me you're not gone- tell me that your cool guitar will still play on and on- I hope you found your rose garden, Joe- two think I knew you when- you saying out to challenge hypocrisy time and time again- all God's children get weary Joe- from the games that people play- but walkin' a mile and another man shoes made me who I am today- at a time, late 60s & 70s, when I was an impressionable, growing girl- you saying what you saw in the mirror of your mind- and you really did change the world- you shaped the soul of this little girl Joe South 1940-2012

Poor Aunt Frtzi! Seems like every other day or so, she is focused on another memorial for someone who has passed. Since Nancy has been around since 1933 and Aunt Fritzi has been around since 1922, Aunt Fritzi would have been more in the neighborhood of being a growing girl who was between 40 and 50 during the 60s and 70s. If you figure that Aunt Fritzi was actually a young adult when she made her debut in 1922, it COULD be possible that Aunt Fritzi was more likely in her own 60s and 70s during the 1960s and 1970s! While the tributes are often lovely – I can’t help but wonder why there are so many and why they crop up so frequently.

Susan, If you look back at the Neil Armstrong strip, the tribute really came from all three star characters. They talk of Fritzi’s memories. Thanks for reading.

At 56, I find myself dwelling on the passing of icons – especially musical icons – who were popular during my youth. Clearly, Guy feels the same. It seems that the loss of Davy Jones this past February, was the start of a long string of such losses this year. Thanks, Guy, for expressing what many of us feel.

Characters in the comix don’t normally age in “real world” time, they age (or don’t age) in comix world time. Does anyone know where you can go to get strips that were published years (even decades ) ago, even strips that are defunct? If so, email me at dawest350@gmail.com

Well done, guys. Not syrupy, political, or maudlin. Nice remembrance for those of us who were “there” with Fritzi.
