I dunno…. I get a little flighty around the edges myself sometimes….and I kinda like it.
A little tingle, a little skip in my step…oooh….makes me a little daydream-y…especially when autumn or spring puts a little hint of changes in the air…
But Bev, you’re right….that matronly teased-up “do” has GOT to go…and that blue and white business…I’ll see what I can do.
However, Linguist….why on Earth would Nelson want her to leave him….that’s just what I was talking about the other day….
You liked it when I said I was accepting of a man of a certain age……but I was actually admiring the eager way the husbands of Ballard St look at their grey-haired wives.
And BTW….yesterday when you said “S.S. and other stuff only goes soooo far.”I too for a moment thought you meant me. LOL!
Susan, if anyone can work makeover miracles, it’s you ! That color is perfect for her. I call Nelson and he can surprise her with Susan’s Spa Day Gift Certificate – good for feeling good.
Hey Red,Whose doing the ribs ? I’m bringing over some of my Buccaneer Barbecue Baste and a cold keg of Arrogant Bastard Ale ( incredibly good ! Brewed by Stone Brewing Co. in Escondido, Ca. ). That should get the afternoon off to a good start !
For all my Banana Loving Ballard Street friends, I thought I’d post the following non-alcoholic recipe ( Rum or Vodka can always be added )Active Time: 5 MinutesTotal Time: 15 MinutesYield: Serves 4The only thing better than a malted milk shake is one made with two different flavors. Here a thick banana malt is sandwiched between top and bottom layers of a dark mocha malt – a little trick that’s easily accomplished by par-freezing one layer before adding the next, to keep them separate.RECIPE INGREDIENTSFor the Mocha Shake:1/4 cup cold whole milk1/4 cup chocolate syrup1/4 cup malted milk powder1 1/2 tablespoons instant espresso powder6 large scoops vanilla ice creamFor the Banana Shake:1/4 cup whole milk1 medium ripe banana, peeled3 tablespoons malted milk powder1 teaspoon vanilla extract6 large scoops vanilla ice cream
»DIRECTIONSChill four 11-ounce soda fountain glasses or other tall glasses in freezer.
FOR THE MOCHA SHAKE: Blend first 4 ingredients in blender or drink mixer until powders are dissolved. Add 3 scoops ice cream; blend until just smooth. Add remaining 3 scoops ice cream; blend until thick, smooth and creamy. Divide half of mocha mixture evenly among chilled glasses. Transfer remaining mixture to small pitcher. Place pitcher and soda fountain glasses in freezer for 10 minutes.
FOR THE BANANA SHAKE: Blend first 4 ingredients in blender or drink mixer until powder is dissolved. Add 3 scoops ice cream; blend until just smooth. Add remaining 3 scoops ice cream; blend until thick, smooth and creamy. Slowly pour all of banana mixture over mocha mixture in glasses, dividing equally. Freeze shakes 10 minutes.
Stir reserved mocha mixture, then slowly pour over banana mixture, dividing equally. Serve immediately with long-handled spoons and straws.

Bev — I agree!
And what do you think of this?

SusanSunshine Premium Member about 12 years ago
I didn’t want to do anything that might throw Nelson for a loop!
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 12 years ago
That’s just an altered picture…. I’ll show it to her and she can make an appointment for the real thing….
Right now, I have an appointment with a monkey…
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 12 years ago
Bev — Well, as you can see, the “look” I gave her does include talking her into new glasses…Perhaps I could see how she’d look with contacts….
But I’m not licensed to do plastic surgery in my salon…
And of course, being of a certain age myself, I’m happier believing Nelson prefers her just the way she is.

It’s time that Natalie took some more of “those” pills, that she was taking the other day.
