Satchel: Where are you going? I thought we were wrapping your brother's gnome. Rob: Sorry, but trying to explain what a metronome is to you two i alike a laurel and hardy skit. Satchel: I think I missed that episode. Rob: Forget about stupid gnomes! A metro-ohhhh, here we go again. Who's on first?! Bucky: Well, you're a sox fan, so... Not teixeira! Satchel: I find this discussion to be gnome insensitive. I mean, gnomes are people, too... Well, not "people," per se, but... Ok, to be fair, people aren't gnomes either, see... rob? Bucky?

My music teacher had me tap my foot. What’s with a mechanical metronome, anyway? I think my smartphone has an app for that if I really can’t figure out what 70 beats per minute is.

…Cricket…cricket… (That’s what my son said to me in response to a joke I told him, back when he was 10 years old. I got such a good laugh out of it! I had never before heard that sound effect uttered in that manner.)

I’ll never forget when Abbot and Costello proved that 7 times 13 is 28…….and proved it 3 different ways.

This type of conversation is standard after dinner in my family. Visitors get a little overwhelmed.

He should’ve just shown them the metronome in the first place.
