    It’s a real stream of consciousness. It’s like Keroac’s On the Road!

    Even if you have to rip all the pages out of the book to do it, Dill, it’ll be worth it.

    I see that Richard is off the Advanced Mother Goose theme, but I got this up yesterday and have to share it:

    Original Mother Goose“Tom, Tom, the piper’s son, Stole a pig, and away did run; The pig was eat And Tom was beat, And Tom went crying Down the street.”

    The Advanced Mother GooseChanges the last three lines to:“And we, using positive behavior modification techniques, Tom did treat,And Tom became a nice young manWe’d want our girls to meet.”

    This is the Advanced Mother Goose, Dry. It’s supposed to be PC! That’s the whole point!

    I’m glad to see this strip in reruns. I was gong to sorely miss it. My local paper let it go and is running Stone Soup in its place. As for pc stuff, I wish somebody would stuff it where the sun don’t shine.

    James Michener’s “The Novel” has a subplot about a “boy genius” whose book in progress is a box of random pages with random thoughts, to be read in random order.

    When I was a kid, the tape was kept on a high, high shelf in the cupboard nobody really used. It was necessary to prevent situations like this, and also to keep the tape from being used up within a day of being purchased.

    @Chikuku – Good one

    @mdaltonSame around here – and magic markers, any kind of craft paint, We need to start doing that with scissors. The six-year-old will still go at clothes with them!!

    @dry – Right on! I think a lot of PC is ridiculous, but a little bit is sometimes needed to spare the feelings of those who have been ridiculed in the past.

    Well, it’s been 5 years in pre-school for these kids, they’ll never make it to middle school now…
