I hesitate to comment, but what the hell.Like most syndicated newspaper cartoonists, I submit the Sunday Cornered two months in advance.It amazes me how often a cartoon I pick to run on any given day seems to tie into current events. Today’s cartoon seems to be a tribute to my beloved Mom who passed on last week. By sheer coincidence, mind you, but a tribute nonetheless.Of course, Mom was Cornered’s biggest fan and would’ve have loved today’s cartoon. Mom had a wonderful sense of humor and it never took much to get a rise out of her! My Mom gave me my sense of humor. My Dad played the straight man and in a way the combination has provided me with plenty of material on the subject of marriage, parenting and relationships.I’m grateful to have had my Mom for the better part of my life and that she’s been there to share my dream of cartooning.I love you, Mom. This one’s for you.
