Cow and Boy Classics by Mark Leiknes for November 01, 2013
Transcript:
"Cow, how come a movie is worse than the book it's adapted from?" "Well, trying to adapt written fiction can be difficult when it's forced to follow the 3-act structure of a 2-hour film." "Characterizations and subplots that work in a narrative are dropped, resulting in an experience that is less fulfilling." "Yeah, but what about 'The Cat in The Hat'?" "Oh, I don't know that."
Obviously the reason that all these recent Dr. Seuss adaptations suck is that they’re expanding the plot nonsensically and adding all sorts of crap.
