Cow and Boy Classics by Mark Leiknes for December 18, 2020
Transcript:
"OK, I get it. Jesus' birthday is Christmas. But why did they move the date? If perhaps he was born in the spring, why not celebrate his birthday then? Is it too close to the 4th of July?" "No, that can't be it. The declaration of independence happened like 1776 years after Jesus died." "Jesus died?" "Where are you when your family's at church?"
We don’t even have the year of Jesus’s birth right. Given that our current conjunction of Jupiter and Saturday happened with other planets in 7 BCE, we’re about that many years off. 2020 becomes 2027 (with no year 0).
