This is basically me trying to read anything after 6th grade.

I can usually do better with my imagination on characters than the directors. Although, with CGI the sets are now surpassing my imagination. But I can still add smells and TV can’t do that yet.

Yeah, reading is sure labor intensive. To say nothing of the dangers of paper cuts!

One of the reasons books are better than the movies. Characters rarely look like what I imagine them to be. For instance, Tom Cruise looks nothing like Jack Reacher.

I feel you, Kevin. As someone with moderate aphantasia it’s pretty much impossible for me to picture anything in my head that comes even close to real life. To bad you live before the internet or you could do what I do, which is look at fanart.

Kevin really needs visual aids.

Kevin seems like when he starts reading a book, he also looks ahead to see how many pages until end of a chapter. Also, he will check for illustrations as a bonus.

Guess Kevin will grow up into an artist…….

Even my favorite first adult book, Sailing Alone Around The World, had illustrations in it that really added to the story, and it wasn’t a kiddie book at all.
