Great Rao, here we go with the Silver Age comics references in THIS strip now! So, who’s going to appear first, Dead Skunk Head John and Crazy Harry or the Atomik Bullpen crew?
Also, do you think you had Lillian refer to it as a “comics” and/or “comic book” enough times in panel three, TB? We could tell from the picture what it was.
I will feel genuinely irritated if Lillian here makes a visit over to Westview to sell this thing, providing an opportunity for some “special guest appearances” less than a month after Funky Winkerbean ended. At least Frasier had enough dignity to wait until its second season to do an episode with Sam Malone in it.
By the by, what happened to the great “time discrepancy resolution” that Harley the Transchronal Custodian promised over in Funky Winkerbean last month? The Grandy Twins in today’s strip appear to still be in their tweens at most, while they were shown attending Westview High in FW’s final days. It appears that Batiuk still cannot keep his continuity straight.

Is that a rare issue and worth big bucks?

10 cent cover price is very old, issue number 1 is a prime collectable
If it’s in decent shape it should be worth a bunch

Looks like someone’s retirement account is going to get a nice boost. A number one from the 70’s of most any series is probably worth some nice coin.

Aren’t all ravens black? Kind of a redundant title.
Anyway, here we go with the Funky Winkerbean crossovers.
