Alice: Hey! You're not reading! Petey: I'm exhausted. Petey: I'm exhausted. That playdate with Andre wore me out. He's like an explosion with eyeglasses. Whenever I'm really tired, I stare at my favorite spot on the ceiling, right there, in between the little speck and the tiny crack, and I feel rejuvenated. Aaaahhh -

I’ve got a spot like that on my ceiling. From one angle, it looks like a cute little fluffy bunny. From another, a rampaging bear. So it depends on the mood …

Yeah, when Schulz started, nobody else was doing what he was doing. Then everybody started doing it. Then everybody complained that Schulz was still doing “that tired old stuff.”
The best strips don’t imitate other strips, but they end up being imitated. “Peanuts” was one of the best of all time. “Cul de Sac” has the potential to be another.
