Makes perfect sense to me, too.

Give the turkey to Big Shirley, and the fangs to Grandma. Perfect match.

Don’t tell Mom what you said Alice.

Harsh, Alice, very harsh on mom! Besides, the remedy for dry turkey is lots of gravy and plenty of cranberry sauce (or, even better, cranberry-orange relish).

I love my slices of turkey breast all year; I roast a whole breast about every 6 weeks. Mine are roasted with some flavoring veggies in cavities mixed with whole branches of fresh herbs and a thin slice or 2 of butter under the skin with some herbs-and I baste with white wine. I eat some cold in summer but I like best in cold weather to just have yams with a dab of butter and my Cuban black beans. I AM going to roast a whole roasting pumpkin this week because I saw Alton Brown do one weeks ago, and happened upon a really pretty one in my grocery. I may either improvise or dash out for other groceries, though because I did not have the recipe on hand.

@Personof Interest, I did not know of an illness; nothing serious and debilitating I hope (selfishly). I only discovered his cartoons fairly recently, so this one is new to me. I vaugely remember Shirley’s dog about when I started reading.
