Mom: Alice, do you want to go play in Grandma's backyard? Alice: No, I don't. Grandma: Big Shirley's back there. I'll bet she's hungry! Mom: Let's give Big Shirley a treat! I'll come out with you! Okay? Alice: Nuh buh buh guh- Grandma: There's a big bag of doggie treats by the back door. Just give her a few. You know how she is... Grandma: When she starts eating she never knows when to stop.
I used to be the same way around my sister’s dog. It was a Great Dane. I get nervious around any dog but the fact including its ears it was almost as tall as me. Plus it did not like me one bit. I guess he was protective of my sister and her daughters…and since I was barely there….it saw me as a possible threat. so if I got near my sister or nieces he would growl and bark
