Alice: C'mon Dill! You've got to try it! Dill: What if it makes him mad? Beni: Try what? Alice: Dill can hear things far away with his hat. I told him to listen to Santa Claus! Beni: Yes! You've got to! Dill: Okay, I'll try. Stand back. Alice: What did you hear? Santa? Beni: What was he doing? Dill: Oogh. No. Not Santa- Dill: Just a lot of adults talking in conspiratorial whispers. Alice: I knew it! They're up to something dire. Beni: Like always.
