Alice: Is this a game? Petey: No. I've put down a random trail of pages from my graphic novel "Toad Zombies." Petey: It's an exercise to inspire new directions in plot development. This is how Melville wrote "Moby Dick." Petey: Here the trail splits, suggesting a possible plot twist. Petey: But we keep going this way, following the random associations- HEY! Petey: A purple elephant just entered the plot! And green kittens! Is this how Melville came up with a white whale? Dill: These're coloring book pages. Alice: How'd those get there? Petey: Yikes! A pack of pink puppies! They're tearing the Toad Zombies to shreds!

Alice (and Dill) must’ve been messin’ with Petey’s things… again.

Once again, Richard’s blog entry covers the last 7 strips. Howl’s Moving Castle (if you’ve got a couple hours to spare) – not sure if that’s what Richard was pointing to, as his link is broken.

His link was probably just showing a piece of the movie, showing the castle moving. Looking at the trailer (www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwROgK94zcM) will give you a glimpse of the castle as it moves. Howl’s Moving Castle was the first anime movie that I had ever watched. I was so impressed with it that I eventually went through all the Studio Ghibli films (up through Ponyo) and started watching other anime films and TV series on a regular basis.

On a separate note, I used to be able to add direct links into a comment here. I wonder if they changed things so that only PRO members can post links in comments.

The pink puppies twist would be quite the surprise to his readers as they just seem to come out of nowhere!
