Mom: Okay, Alice, it's bedtime! Alice: NOT YET! Mom: Alice! I read "The Very Cranky Vole" using the Silly Voice. Mom: We did the Hugaboo Dance. We did the Oopsie Bedtime Pratfall. Mom: We sang the Nighty Night Song with the Funny Tummy Drum Solo. That's your whole routine! Alice: I'd like to expand the routine, maybe do a big finish with a human pyramid. Alice: My dream is to elevate my bedtime routine to a total work of art that combines song, dance, drama and violent slapstick! Mom: Goodnight, Alice. Alice: Now, I'll have nightmares about my creative impulses being smothered.
I can just listen to a tape of my old philosophy teacher and I fall like a sack of bricks.
