I don’t ever remember being allowed to pick out my own cereal. Of course, in the 50s, they didn’t have so much sugar. I remember Gabby Hayes saying “Some people like their cereal sweet and some people like it not so sweet. That’s he beauty of Puffed Wheat. You can sweeten it yourself.” (Gosh, am I old!)
