Now how is Petey going to ship all that to the Smithsonian (with or without Alice’s smuggling of her toys)?

I don’t know what was more complicated; getting that history all together or gathering all those shoeboxes.

Petey’s family sure buys a lot of shoes.

Petey, I would have them insured if I were you. Take hi-def digital photos of each one, burn them to several DVDs (master and backups) and ask your father to put one in a lock box at his bank. Keep some of the other backups off-site too.

As a historian, I’d love the chance to see the whole collection.

Every town needs an odd little museum. This could be Petey’s contribution to local culture.

The archivists and curators at the Smithsonian would require that at a minimum Petey’s works be sprayed with AnachronismBGone.

Dioramist. Something for readers to aspire to.

Petey has found his niche! As a professional Dioramist, he could lead a new national fad! The Smithsonian would be wise to promote Petey’s Diorama History of the World heavily: it could be a huge blockbuster exhibit! Better than Joseph Cornell boxes….

Y’now, it’s not often a comic strip makes you reach for the encyclopedia. Nice.
