I never thought of marshmallows in oatmeal at all, Alice. In a mug of hot chocolate, yes, but not what you’re thinking of.

A pretty good idea if you don’t know what to buy for Christmas.

My children grew up without ever making me some form of pasta art. I wonder if it’s too late to ask for that this Christmas . . .

It’s nice to see that Dill is so excited about this project.

And Alice, you don’t have to actually eat the oatmeal in order to empty the box first.

once (once!) bought some of that cereal with marshmallows; our kids wouldn’t eat it. A neighbour child stayed the night, and told me she loved that cereal. She ate the marshmallows and left the rest.

Dill’s excitement is infectious – except to Alice.

I was privileged to get the pasta art when my kids were little. i kept it for many years. Eventually, all the pasta fell off.

i never thought of marshmallows in oatmeal. I will have to try that. I actually love oatmeal with brown sugar and cinnamon.

In Dill’s case, glue and food are redundant.

I still have the macaroni snowman that my son made at school some 40 years ago. Hang it upon the wall every Christmas.

Alice, it’s an ART project, for heaven’s sake! It does not need marshmallows.

And, Dill? We do not eat our ART!

All right, children, commence making art….
